School uniform
Clothing:
The Manor School uniform consists of an embroidered royal blue sweatshirt and an embroidered yellow polo shirt, both of which are available from the “My Clothing” uniform website.
Pupils are encouraged to wear plain grey or black school trousers, skirts, or tracksuit bottoms, which can be purchased from various shops such as Tesco, Asda, Matalan, and Primark.
The majority of our pupils wear their school uniform with pride. Many families have shared that seeing the uniform each morning supports their child’s morning routine of getting ready for school. Whilst it is our preference for all pupils to wear the school uniform, doing so is not compulsory.
School leaders and governors recognise that, for financial, cultural, or religious reasons, it may not be appropriate for all pupils to wear the school uniform.
During the winter months, it is important that children come to school with warm clothing, including a suitable coat. In the summer months, children may come to school wearing shorts.
Ordering Embroidered Uniform:
Please note, we do not stock or sell school uniform at the school office. All orders must be completed directly with My Clothing. Orders can be placed via the website, and items will automatically have the school logo embroidered onto them.

Footwear:
We appreciate parent/carer co-operation regarding sensible footwear and appropriate clothing. Flip-flops and open-toed sandals should not be worn for health and safety reasons.
PE and Swimming:
All pupils take part in weekly PE and swimming sessions on a timetabled basis. For PE sessions, it is important that pupils bring an appropriate change of clothing and either trainers or plimsolls.
For swimming sessions, pupils must bring a towel and swimming kit. Swimming socks, hats, and special continence swimming shorts/costumes will be provided by the school. Please contact your child’s class teacher if you are unsure which day your child has PE or swimming.
Personal Belongings and Jewellery:
Personal belongings, such as toys and iPads, should not be sent to school without prior permission, as they are at risk of being damaged or lost. Jewellery, such as rings and hoop/long earrings, is not allowed due to the potential for personal injury; however, pupils with pierced ears may wear a stud or sleeper.
Labelling:
All clothing must be clearly labelled with the child’s full name. We have a lost property box; however, we may not be able to match missing items to the correct pupil without a name label.
If your child comes home without an item of clothing, please inform the school at the earliest opportunity to help us trace it.
Please note that any unclaimed clothing at the end of a term will be washed and used as “spares.”
Smart Devices:
Please note that smart devices, including smart watches and audio monitoring devices such as AngelSense, are not permitted in school. This is in line with confidentiality and data protection regulations. If a child comes into school with a smart device, it will be removed and the parent / carer will be asked to collect the device from school.
The Halo Code:
At Manor School, we have proudly adopted the Halo Code.
Our school champions the right of staff and pupils to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black staff and pupils’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance.
We welcome Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps.
At Manor School, we recognise and celebrate our staff and pupils’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on anyone’s ability to succeed.
